2005 -LITTLE LEAGUE PLAYERS INFORMATION SHEET- 2005


DIVISIONAL AGE GROUPS
Children are placed on teams according to: 1) League Age and/or 2) Ability. League Age is the age of the player on or before 7/31/05. Chico Central Little League offers the following levels of league play:

BASEBALL

Tee-Ball 5 through 7 Ball hit from batting tee
Farm League 7 through 9 Coaches pitch to batters**
Minor League 8 through 12 Players pitch to opposing team
Major League 9 through 12 Players pitch to opposing team
Junior League 13 through 14 80’ base path: 55’ pitching distance
Senior League 14 through 16 90’ base paths: 60’6’’ pitching distance
SOFTBALL
Minor League 9 through 12 Fast pitch-6 run per inning limit
Major League 10 through 12 Fast pitch
Juniors 13 through 14 Fast pitch
Seniors 14 through 16 High School Field dimensions


**Parents may request that Players who are League Age 7 be considered for assignment to a Farm league team

FEES REQUIRED DOCUMENTS (All Ages)


$40 per child- T-Ball Birth Certificate (Proof of League Age)
$60 per child- Farm, Minors, and Majors Utility Bill (or other Proof of residence)
$65 per child- Juniors and Seniors
Note: Families with 3+ players in the League will receive a $5/ child discount! $15 Late fee after January 22!

MAJORS & SENIORS: ALL PLAYERS between the Ages 10-16, who are not returning to a Majors or Seniors team, are REQUIRED to attend at least one tryout session.
MINORS: Players Ages 8-9 who wish to be considered for Minor League teams must tryout.
TEE-BALL and FARM: Players Ages 5-9 who wish to play Tee-Ball or Farm need not tryout.
EQUIPMENT FOR TRYOUTS: Bring a glove and cleats. Personal bats are optional.
SKILLS EVALUATED: Outfield and Infield play; throwing, pitching, batting and running.

SCHEDULE: DATES: January 29th , February 5th , Rain Make-up February 12th (Only if necessary)
PLACE: WILDWOOD PARK – NOTE NEW LOCATION!!!
TIMES: Age 8-9 => 10am Age 10 => 11am Age 11-12 => 12 noon
Age 13-16 => 1pm (2-05-05, only)
Age 11 => 11am Softball: To be announced

UNIFORMS
After team assignments/selections are completed, the team’s Manager will notify each player when caps, jerseys or other uniform parts are ready to be distributed.

PROHIBITED ATTIRE/EQUIPMENT
To insure safety, players cannot wear watches, rings, earrings, pins or other metal jewelry at tryouts, practices or games. Molded rubber cleats are permitted, but not required.

OPENING DAY CEREMONIES
Opening Day Ceremonies will be held at the Chico Elks’ Lodge, Saturday, April 2, 2005.
Opening Day will feature:
** Pancake Breakfast-A tasty bargain ** Home Run Derby and other competitions
** Photos Team and Individual ** Introductions of the Teams

FUND-RAISING
Fundraising activities in which everyone is expected to participate include: Candy Sales and Opening Day Ceremonies. Either Buy-out of your candy sale obligation for only $20 at Registration or sell a box of Candy. In addition, we encourage participation in the Good Guys Golf Tournament. This annual event generates a sizable contribution to the League.


SPONSORSHIPS AND BILLBOARDS
Sponsor names are printed on team jerseys. Sponsorships start at $175 and are tax deductible. Billboard space is available at the Elks’ Field. This inexpensive advertising was seen by hundreds of spectators last year when CCLL hosted the Major’s Tournament of Champions.


PARENT VOLUNTEERS – WE NEED YOUR HELP
Little League is an All Volunteer organization. Our League has many needs. Share your time to accomplish the work required to make Little League a success for your children. You can help regardless of background. Your kids will appreciate you more; you will feel a sense of “ownership” of the League and both of you will have more fun. Volunteer areas include, but are not limited to:
-Board Membership -Managing/Coaching Teams -Umpiring -Pre Season Field Prep
-Opening Day -Team Parent -Fundraising -Game Day Field Prep
